　　Chen Xiaolian thought for a moment, then shook his head. "We just got here; let's get our bearings first. Doubt we're leaving today, so let's find a place to stay in the residential district. Once that's sorted, we can talk about the rest."

　　Everyone nodded in agreement. The seven of them headed south towards the residential district.

　　Crossing a metallic bridge south of the central plaza, they noticed outdoor cafes along the riverbank. Some Awakened ones were lounging under patio umbrellas, sipping drinks.

　　Laughter and chatter filled the air. Chen Xiaolian was surprised to see a man-made beach with artificial waves. People in swimsuits were enjoying the water.

　　"This is like a resort," Chen Xiaolian marveled, looking up at the clear blue sky. "I thought this city would be underground, like Qin Shi Huang's tomb."

　　Lun Tai shrugged. "Zero City's location is a mystery. Every time I come, the sky changes—sometimes day, sometimes night, sometimes nothing at all. Who knows? Maybe the sun and sky are fake."

　　Roddy, eyes fixed on a bikini-clad woman, finally tore his gaze away. "Why are they vacationing here?"

　　"Because it's safe," Lun Tai replied with a smile. "First, no random Awakened ones to fight. You know, the whole kill-for-treasure thing."

　　Chen Xiaolian nodded, recalling a past incident.

　　"Zero City is safe. Everyone here is an Awakened one, so we can coexist peacefully."

　　"There's more," Lun Tai continued. "This artificial beach has a special nickname in Zero City."

　　"Nickname? What is it?"

　　"Sea of Love," Lun Tai said, blushing slightly.

　　"Sea of Love?" Chen Xiaolian and the others were stunned.

　　"Most Awakened ones are lonely," Lun Tai sighed. "Becoming an Awakened changes you. You start questioning reality, feeling lost and hesitant. Would you date an ordinary person, knowing you might die in an instance dungeon?"

　　He paused, looking at the beach. "Some feel like using an inflatable doll when they're with ordinary people. The loneliness is overwhelming."

　　"Being with other Awakened ones helps," Lun Tai continued. "It's why they often find partners here. The cafes and beach are perfect for meeting others."

　　Lun Tai turned to Chen Xiaolian and Roddy. "Guild Leader might not need this, but Roddy, Xiaolei, how about a drink at the riverbank pub tonight? Might be memorable."

　　Roddy's eyes lit up. "Yes! Let's go now!"

　　They strolled down the main road of the South District. The road was wide but vehicle-free, designed for pedestrians. The area was clean and metallic, lacking greenery.

　　The buildings were surprisingly normal, either square or round. Lun Tai and Bei Tai led them to a familiar hotel on a bustling street.

　　The 'Tourist Lodge' was impressive, with transparent glass doors. Inside, a circular public area featured a screen wall with moving text in various languages.

　　"This hotel is protected by Zero City officials and the Rodriar Guild," the text read.

　　Rodriar? Chen Xiaolian smiled. "Sounds powerful."

　　"One of the permanent guilds in Zero City," Lun Tai said. "Trustworthy, never bully others. We've stayed here before."

　　At the counter, a virtual female staff member appeared. "Any specific requirements?"

　　"A suite for seven, please."

　　The projection smiled, tapping the air to bring up a translucent screen.

　　Roddy was awestruck. "This place is straight out of a sci-fi movie! Is the attendant an Awakened?"

　　Bei Tai rolled his eyes. "No, just a virtual AI. Don't get too excited."
